How it works
From global event to price forecast

We monitor thousands of news sources every 15 minutes and build a causal chain from each event to its likely price impact.

1

Event detection

We monitor 100,000+ news sources globally in real time and filter for events with a plausible causal path to commodity prices — geopolitical, supply chain, infrastructure, regulatory.

2

AI classification

Each event is classified by sector, signal type, tier (1 = direct impact, 3 = leading indicator), and causal chain. Multiple sources covering the same event are grouped into a single cluster.

3

Historical correlation

We compare each cluster against historical events of the same type and location, measuring actual price movements at T+1d, T+7d, T+30d. The patterns become your forecast baseline.

Coverage
Sectors and signal types

Every event is tagged with a sector and a signal group that describes the mechanism connecting it to prices.

🛢

Oil & Gas

Tracks events that affect crude oil and gasoline prices — from OPEC decisions and pipeline disruptions to geopolitical tensions in producing regions.

WTI Brent OPEC Hormuz Iran sanctions
💾

Semiconductors

Tracks supply chain disruptions, export controls, fab incidents, and geopolitical risks to chip production in Taiwan, South Korea, and the Netherlands.

SOXX TSMC NVIDIA Export controls Taiwan
Signal tiers
Not all signals are equal

Each event is assigned a tier based on how directly it connects to price movement.

Tier 1 · Direct

Immediate price impact

The causal chain is short and high-confidence. Price moves typically within hours to days.

"Iran closes Strait of Hormuz" → blocked tanker route → 20% of global oil supply disrupted → WTI spike
Tier 2 · Indirect

Days to weeks delay

Multi-step causal chain. The connection to price is real but requires additional conditions to materialise.

"Port earthquake" → tanker rerouting → delivery delay → regional supply tightening → price differential
Tier 3 · Leading

Months-ahead indicator

Weak or probabilistic signal. Useful as early warning — if confirmed by tier 1/2 events, forecast confidence rises.

"Election polling shows regulatory candidate leading" → potential future cap on extraction → CAPEX reduction risk
